The GSR Restoration Program

About the program

The GSR Restoration Program was created by Charles Carnegie in 2023.  Charles is a trustee of The Nature Conservancy (TNC).  He has been funding restoration work along the Great Southern Reef (GSR) since 2014.
He started this restoration program (and fund) to support broader engagement, research and restoration projects associated with Stage 4 restoration.  Specifically, projects that complement TNC's work around southern Australia.
Charles can be reached on Twitter at @GSR_org_au.

How we operate

The GSR Restoration Program is a giving fund of the Australian Philanthropic Services Foundation.  It donates private funds to charities with DRG1 status.
Australian Philanthropic Services (APS) manages these funds using a named giving fund (also known as a sub-fund) in their public ancillary fund, the APS Foundation. Grants from The GSR Restoration Program come from the APS Foundation.

How you can help

There are a range of ways to help with the restoration of the Great Southern Reef.  The following list is by no means exhaustive.

Support our overall program

Feel free to contact me on Twitter if you have ideas for the progam.  Unfortunately, at this time, we can't accept donations to the GSR Restoration Program.

Help tell the story of the GSR

Give to the Australian Museum to support the development of a GSR exhibition.
